Our Story: 40+ Years Building IBCs That Don’t Fail
Hawman Container Services was founded on decades of hands-on industry experience and a relentless commitment to building safer, longer-lasting containers. In the late 1960s, Murray Hawman worked as a transport driver, witnessing firsthand how industrial containers failed under real-world conditions. That insight shaped a new approach to container design — one focused on durability, compliance, and long-term reliability.
By the late 1970s, Hawman began reconditioning barrels and developing its own UN-certified IBC systems, applying practical field knowledge to engineer stronger, safer bulk containers. Today, as a 100% Canadian family-owned and operated company, Hawman produces up to 40 IBCs per day in its in-house Polyethylene Rotomolding division and has expanded its custom fabrication capabilities to include API tanks, structural frames, and turnkey fluid handling systems.
Many Hawman IBCs built decades ago remain in service today — performing as reliably as the day they were manufactured.
